HPSP
Learn how the Army HPSP can support veterinary school while preparing future veterinarians for Army service.

Program overview
If you are a U.S. citizen enrolled in an AVMA-accredited DVM or VMD program, HPSP may provide three years of scholarship support under the current terms.
The scholarship provides full tuition coverage, a monthly stipend of more than $3,110, and reimbursement for certain academic fees.
During the stated annual training period, you receive Active Duty pay at the grade specified by the current program terms. If selected, you are appointed and commissioned while completing veterinary school and the required military training.
After completing veterinary school, you fulfill the Active Duty Obligation specified by the scholarship terms: a year-for-year obligation with a minimum of three years. During your service obligation, you apply your veterinary training to Army animal health and veterinary public-health responsibilities.
After veterinary school, you are expected to apply for and attend the First Year Graduate Veterinary Education Program under the current terms. The one-year program includes clinical medicine, public health, leadership, and hospital management. Contact Marcus to confirm how FYGVE fits your scholarship and service timeline.
