Program overview
Understand the opportunity
If you are a U.S. citizen enrolled in an American Dental Association-accredited D.D.S. or D.M.D. program, HPSP may provide three or four years of scholarship support under the current terms.
The scholarship provides full tuition coverage, a $20,000 bonus, a monthly stipend of more than $3,110, and reimbursement for certain academic fees.
The program also includes required military training. During the stated annual training period, you receive Active Duty pay at the grade specified by the current program terms. If selected, you are appointed and commissioned at the grade specified by the current program terms while completing dental school and required military training.
After graduating from dental school, you enter the Army Dental Corps at the grade specified by the current program terms. This marks your transition from dental school into professional practice in the Army Dental Corps.
After dental school, you fulfill an Active Duty Obligation based on the length of scholarship support: a year-for-year obligation with a minimum of three years.
